Guests can choose between Bed and Breakfast (B&B) accommodation in six individually personalized luxurious guest rooms in the Chateau or three luxury self catered apartments in the Manoir de Bellefonds. Our 17th century Norman manor house is on the grounds of the 150-acre estate. The Chateau and 3 self-catering apartments are an ideal venue for family holiday vacations in Normandy and can be rented exclusively. The six luxury guest rooms have tall windows with abundant light, warm decorative colours and offer panoramic views of the Normandy countryside.
The guest rooms are furnished with baldaquin or four-poster beds with large luxurious ensuite bathrooms and guests have access to the internet via WiFi. The prestigious American travel magazine Travel & Leisure chose Chateau de l’isle-Marie as one of 50 romantic getaways worldwide. Isle-Marie is situated in the heart of Normandy in La Manche and is an ideal holiday home from where to visit the tourist sites of Normandy or just to relax in the magnificent drawing room in the Chateau amidst a host of family portraits. Chateau de l’Isle-Marie incorporates the elegance of a bygone era and is an ideal venue for a romantic getaway in Normandy, a birthday celebration, wedding anniversary or a think-tank venue for corporate meetings. Transformed into three, elegant, self-contained apartments, the Manoir de Bellefonds is the most recent addition to the “l’ Isle-Marie Experience.” The manor house stands a stone's throw from the castle, which can be glimpsed through the majestic chesnut trees that surround it. The historic residence is at once imposing and intimate.
The entrance hall still has the original stone floor and walls and runs the length of the building. It hosts fine antique chairs and armoires crafted in local style. At the other end of the hall you can enter the Manoir´s private walled garden á la Vauban. The house itself is a fine example of perfectly proportioned, seventeenth century architecture. It was built for the Maréchal de Bellefonds, first marshal of France and a close companion of Louis XIV, the Sun King. The building is flanked by a fine stable block and an exquisite Italian style chapel designed by Mansart, architect to the court of Versailles.
The Manoir de Bellefonds has been extensively renovated in recent years and is now divided into three luxurious, self-contained apartments:
•Le Maréchal (sleeps 6 - 8 persons) •Le Chevalier (sleeps 2 - 4 persons) •La Marquise (sleeps 2 persons) The apartments are exquisitely furnished and equipped with every contemporary convenience. They feature both family antiques and ultra-modern plumbing and heating, with a choice of bath and shower facilities - truly the best of both worlds. Fresh bed linen and bath towels are supplied on request. Chateau with luxury B&B 6 rooms and suites 3 self contained luxury apartments
